Lucy Maud Montgomery's The Blue Castle, is her only novel set in Ontario and was inspired by her holiday to Bala in 1922.The former tourist home where Montgomery took her meals has been restored to its original 1922 condition. Bala's Museum is open to the public and offers activities for the whole family.

Summer Hours: Thursday-Monday 1pm-4pm
Fall Hours: Saturday and Sunday 1pm-4pm

The museum features both an Anne of Green Gables gift shop and book store. Enjoy historic memorabilia dress up in costumes of the period,participate in the Cran-Anne Look-A-Like Contest, or be inspired by Lucy Maud Montomery's Muskoka.
